MAJOR gun stores are warning customers that their orders of ammunition are being limited or are becoming more expensive, as Ammunition Panic Buying grips the US. Australian wholesalers are beginning to see trends that indicate that Australia will face ammo shortages and price increases in the coming months.
“We expect to see price rises and shortages against all American and European brands which include but are not limited to Hornady, Winchester, Remington, CCI, Federal and Sierra to name a few” an email from The Barn in Toowoomba states.
“The Barn currently has good stocks of most calibres but with rush that we have seen over the last few days, we can see these stocks dwindling rapidly.”
It appears that farmers are thinking ahead about their winter crop and are planning their ammunition purchases well ahead. This is in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, which has seen people stocking up on essentials across the globe as people prepare to distance themselves from others.
