These shooting ranges are open to various people, although some places may offer memberships for some people. The ranges are also open to people as young as twelve, although a parent or guardian must be there to supervise the action. Each range must also have an officer on hand at all times to ensure the safety of all shooters.

The Gunnery

Your first choice among shooting ranges in Adelaide is The Gunnery, a venue with a full-scale shooting range down south in Christies Beach. The range offers firearms training for newcomers, plus it can help you attain your firearms licence if you’re interested in getting one.

The range features digital targets that are accurate within 1mm. You can shoot at different targets that simulate varying distances, or you can fire at moving targets. The digital system provides a greater range of firing opportunities for everyone looking to build their shooting skills.

The 9mm semi-automatic pistol is the most prominent firearm you can use at the Gunnery. The .357 and .44 Magnums are also available for some events.

Marksman Indoor Firing Range

Marksman Indoor Firing Range is a place that has been open for firing since 1991. The venue was formed to emphasise training people in the security field. It has expanded today to offer a full-service indoor shooting range.

The range offers multiple lanes with targets that go up to 25m. You’ll find many semi-auto pistols available for firing, including 9mm and .45 ACP options. You can also try shooting a .357 or .44 Magnum revolver if you’re looking for something a little more powerful. All pistols are also tethered to ensure they will stay on the premises.

You can also find exciting shooting opportunities at the Target Rifle South Australia range in the northern end of Adelaide in Wingfield. The range focuses on Olympic small-bore and air rifle shooting. You’ll find about twenty lanes for firing, with each lane featuring a dedicated digital system to review how well you’re completing your shots.

The shooting range features indoor 10m and 20m ranges and an outdoor 50m venue. You can use a .22 rimfire or .177 air rifle from the club, or you can bring your own if you have one. The venue does not accept Magnums, so be sure you watch for what you’re bringing to the range and that it isn’t too overwhelming.

Noarlunga City Pistol Club

The Noarlunga City Pistol Club is in the southern suburb of the same name. It has been serving people in the community since 1978 as a place that promotes firearm safety and technique. The venue is open for recreational and competitive shooters alike. People can participate to qualify in various state shooting tournaments, with some people potentially reaching national competitions.

The Noarlunga City Pistol Club offers 25m sport and centre fire lanes, plus there’s a 50m freestyle lane here. You can compete with a .22 rifle, single-action rifle, or shotgun while out here.

There’s also an air pistol range at the club. The range features 10m returning targets. The air pistol range only supports .177 ammo.
